Sadly, that is not the case.

I have friends who I hear saying positive things about themselves, while achieving positive results in their lives.

I also have friends who I hear saying positive things about themselves while sadly, getting little to no positive results in their lives.

What’s the big difference between these groups people?

The difference is that people who I see getting results are the ones who actually believe that those results are truly possible for them, whereas the one’s who don’t get the results, have a belief system which counteracts all of the hard work they do in using positive affirmations.

Instead, you could try:

“I’m finding better ways to end procrastination and organize my work, so that I can manage stress with deadlines effectively”.

That might be closer to your belief system’s acceptance and can more easily motivate you to try a better approach. That type of hurdle is not too high to jump over, whereas the first example gives you the highest hurdles, from the start.

By shaping your positive affirmations differently you also help yourself to discover how to manage stress effectively.

Reach For The Positive Affirmations That Are Closest To You

    • Instead of “I’m going to the gym 3 times a week”; try “I’m implementing healthy exercises into my regular routines”.


    • Instead of “I’m going to lose 20 pounds by the summer”; try “I’m using a good weight loss plan that’s helping me to lose X amount of pounds a month”.


    • Instead of “I’m going to get a promotion and a raise within 3 months “; try “I’m bringing new quality to my work that will enable me to reach greater heights”.


These types of positive affirmations also keep you focused on your skills and possibilities in life, instead of focusing on the actions and reactions of others.
I think we’ve all seen people focus so much on improving their skills that instead of a promotion, they got a better job, which was an extra benefit gained from their increased capacities!

Positive affirmations won’t change your mind about who you believe yourself to be deep down in your heart.
But they are designed to help you create the person you’d like to be by taking one step at a time.

    I find this to be so true that if your inner beliefs are opposing your affirmations then you cannot achieve the results from your daily affirmations that you hoped you would.

    :smile: This was an amazing read and very informative I thought. What would have made it an even better read would have been to elaborate a little more about how to build belief when you truly don’t believe.     However, the truly helpful information would have been to know how to fix that problem. I believe that I have found that answer and would like to express it so maybe those that have this problem can possibly overcome it like I did. Where the problem lies in that above quoted statement is that this is a conscious problem. We can tell our self that we are filthy rich each and every day, but if you know you live in a check to check life style and you owe a mountain of debt, reciting you are filthy rich is not going to be received or accepted by your conscious mind. Our conscious mind has the power to reject anything it does not believe. Just like someone telling you the sky is green today and you look up to see it is blue, your conscious mind makes the assumption that the information is false and not valid, it is rejected. Affirmations work the same way and most do not understand this, some who are even affirmation users for years.

    To bypass the conscious minds ability to reject your intentions or positive affirmations and make them stick…you have to go around the conscious mind while it is submerged. The best time for that and the easiest is while you are asleep. Conscious mind submerges in rest, and the subconscious mind, the mind you are supposed to be programming your affirmations to is alert and receiving all that data without rejecting any of it. Believe me a month of affirmation use direct to the subconscious mind will begin change your life.

    What the subconscious mind believes, the conscious mind follows. Get an affirmation device (my favorite), an affirmation CD, or tapes or whatever works for you. But program your affirmations at night and you will find better results whether you believe in the affirmation or not. Hope that helps someone.

      I so agree with the perfect example you gave of a person saying “they’re filthy rich if they live in check to check lifestyle”, and you’re absolutely right. The conscious mind won’t go for that type of positive affirmation.

      I’ve seen this happen time and time again, and I’m quite sure you have, too. I truly wish that this type of affirmers can get some pointers in the right direction and plan to dedicate much more information in order to address this issue and offer more assistance.

      Positive affirmations are such powerful tools, but they must be used correctly if their power be harnessed.

      You’re also absolutely right about the belief system! That is truly fundamental to the success of any positive affirmation.
